Facebook Becomes Top Visited Site In Pakistan

Facebook has become the most visited website in Pakistan leaving behind Google.com and Google.com.pk on the top two ranking, Alexa, a rating website, reported.

The social networking site has attracted more than 4.3 million subscribers increasing every other day, showing the number of increase in subscribers’ base by 2 million in a year and month at the time when it was blocked in May 2010 by the authorities for blasphemous fan page.

Users’ activities on Facebook have also been witnessed surging tremendously for sharing and uploading contents, creation of fanpages and socio-political causes. Besides social networking and coordination, the number of advertisement and commercial marketing has been increased significantly on Facebook.

Google.com.pk and Google.com are the second and third most viewed and used website in Pakistan.

Youtube, Yahoo and Bloggers are ranked as fourth, fifth and sixth most viewed sites.

Windows, Wikipedia, Twitter, Linkedin maintained their subsequent position in top ten most viewed website in the country.

MSN, WordPress, Stumbleupon and Digg have been ranked 11^th , 12^th, 15^th and 16^th respectively.

Pakistan’s Website

Jang.com.pk is the most viewed Pakistani website in the country with the ranking of 13^th among international and local websites. It is followed byexpress.com.pk, rozee.pk and geo.tv on the position of 14^th, 17^th and 18^th.

The website of tribune.com.pk and dawn.com bagged 45^th and 46^th positions among top 50 most viewed websites in Pakistan.
