Nokia 2700 Classic - Cheap Nokia worth every penny!

Introduction

Nokia 2700 Classic a is major step forward for Nokia in their low priced mobile phone series since it NOTHING what you`d expect from a low budget mobile phone especially a cheap nokia; a cheap plastic body, slow software, ordinary and sometimes even ugly looks and hardly any features. Nokia 2700 is Classic anything but that!

Design & Construction

The slim body, metallic chrome border and a high resolution screen makes this mobile aesthetically pleasing. To cap it all, it has a sleek light weight body that is easy on your pocket. The mobile feels expensive and it hard to guess its price, as Nokia 6700, which costs almost  3 times more than Nokia 2700 looks exactly the same. But I do have to say that the back looks a bit uninspiring due the cheap plastic material and the slight shimmer on the backside brings it charm down a notch but apart from that the Nokia 2700 Classic looks epic!

Software & Usability

High resolution makes reading and using the phone quite easy and visibility is not a problem even in the brightest of environments. Nokia 2700 comes with the typical Java software ,which is a common feature in all Nokia phones. Howeve, I did come across an auto-update option which will automatically download updates from Nokia website for the OS and install them through the GPRS. The software in Nokia 2700 is well organized & stable and even after weeks of usage I never came across any crash whatsoever. The themes already existing in the phone are elegant and give the phone a very professional feel.Most of the operations don't take any time at all and surfing through the menu is a breeze. In short this phone is FAST!

Managing contacts is easy and the phone book is quite large,with a capacity of more than 1000 contacts. I did notice a few issues though,;like while messaging, you cannot directly jump to the contacts and have to pass through a intermediary menu firs which is a bit of a nuisance.

Camera

Nowadays,most of the 2 Megapixel cameras that come in normal mobiles usually aren't that good but I was really surprised to see the results from this one. The resolution might be low but the images were very sharp and had a brilliant contrast. The camera also seems to work very good in every kind of lighting condition and stabilizes the images in a better way so you you get less blurry images. However, video making is something in which Nokia 2700 Classic really lets you down as the maximum recording resolution is 176x144 only, which leaves a lot to be desired!

Connectivity & Applications

There weren't any issues with the voice quality as well and most of the times the reception was simply superb! The GPRS connectivity was smooth and never gave me any problems either. The radio seemed to work perfectly as well ,however, you do need to have hands-free connected in order to make it work.
Nokia 2700 comes with Opera Mini as the standard browser and usually such a small phone is cumbersome to use if you intend to browse the internet. However, our experience with the Nokia 2700 wasn't so bad in reality.
