KARACHI: Pakistani actor, Meera who is in the news for her marriage again and again announced that wedding has been called off.
Meera who was all set to get married on July 21 to her fiancé Naveed Shahzad, has called off her marriage due to her in-laws false accusations about her. Meera feels her ex-boyfriend Shoaib Akhtar is a cause of her in-laws bad behaviour towards her.
She said, “The main cause for this incident is my ex-boyfriend Shoaib Akhtar. Shoaib ne Naaved ki family ko bhadkaya, mere baare main bahut bura bhula kaha. I was seeing Shoaib for almost one-and-a-half years, but when I found he was cheating on me by flirting with other women, I broke up with him. I even wanted to marry him but he was never serious”. On the other hand Shoaib Akhtar denied the fact and said, “I was never romantically involved with Meera”.
Meera said there is no use getting married to a family who don’t respect women and want cheap publicity through the media.
Meera got engaged to Naveed Shahzad in February of this year. However, Naveed's father Raja Parvez alleged that Meera is already married and her divorce case is pending in the Pakistan marriage court. Though, Raja later denied making the accusations. Meera felt humiliated by the allegations and has called off the wedding.
